“Stressed Out” is a promotional music video and single from the American alternative hip hop duo Twenty One Pilots‘ fourth studio album, BLURRYFΛCE.
Written by Tyler Joseph and produced by Mike Elizondo, the lyrics discuss the harsh end of adolescence and the transition to adulthood.
“Stressed Out” reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, and number one on Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, Adult Pop Songs and Pop Songs.
The music video for “Stressed Out” was directed by Mark C. Eshleman and it was released via Fueled by Ramen’s official YouTube channel on April 27, 2015. In the video the band members ride big-wheel tricycles to each other’s houses to record the song. They filmed most of the “Stressed Out” video at Josh Dun’s childhood home in Ohio. Many members of Dun’s and Tyler Joseph’s family appear in the radio friendly hit single music video.
BLURRYFΛCE is the band’s second studio album released through Fueled by Ramen.
The album was preceded by its lead single, “Fairly Local“, released on March 17th, 2015. As of March 2016, the album has sold 753,000 copies in the United States. The album contains Billboard top 5 single “Stressed Out“, which reached number two in February 2016.
