“Here” is the debut single and music video by Canadian singer Alessia Cara and the lead single for her extended play (EP) Four Pink Walls, and her debut album Know-It-All.

The music video was directed by Aaron A, it premiered via Alessia Cara’s official YouTube VEVO channel on May 26th 2015.

The song was released on April 30, 2015. “Here” slowly gained popularity, and became Cara’s first US Billboard Hot 100 chart entry debuting at number 95 for the week of August 22nd, 2015; later becoming her first top 5 single on the chart. The track was produced by Pop & Oak, Sebastian Kole and RP.

The main body of the song is a flip of the musicality behind “Glory Box” by Portishead. The song samples “Ike’s Rap II” by Isaac Hayes from the album Black Moses, which also samples the bassline of Wallace Collection’s “Daydream“. The main repeating melody of the song is sampled from the 1960s TV series The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe.
