“Habits (Stay High)” is a song by Swedish recording artist Tove Lo featured on her debut extended play, Truth Serum, as well as her debut album, Queen of the Clouds.
The song was released on 25 March 2013 as Tove Lo’s second single, and later re-released on 6 December 2013 under the title “Habits (Stay High)”. The music video premiered on Tove Lo’s official YouTube VEVO channel.
“Habits” became a sleeper hit, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, becoming her first hit single on that chart. Tove Lo is the highest-charting Swedish artist since “The Sign” by Ace of Base peaked at number one in 1994. The song found more success worldwide as a remix by Hippie Sabotage, where it reached the top ten in Australia and the United Kingdom and other countries in Europe.
The song was produced by The Struts and recorded at Warner/Chappel Studios in Stockholm. “Habits” was mixed by Lars Norgren at Ramtitam Studios in Stockholm, Sweden.
The song peaked at #3 on Billboard Hot 100. As of October 26, the song has sold 1,606,331 copies in the US.
