“Perfect Nightmare” is a song by Barbadian recording artist Shontelle. It is the second single released from her second studio album, No Gravity. The official music video premiered in early October 2010.
In the Colin Tilley-directed clip, she sings away her frustration over the fact that she can’t tell her boxer boyfriend goodbye although she has been hurt for so many times.
Shontelle rises her tempo in “Perfect Nightmare” because she wants to stray away a bit from the ballad tracks which have become her stereotype. “I just wanted to do a single that would be more up-tempo because most people know me for ballads,” she told Neon Limelight. “I was just like ‘no! I want y’all to know I’m a party girl.’ So ‘Perfect Nightmare’ did just that perfectly.
