“Get It Started” is the official lead single and music video by American rapper Pitbull for his upcoming seventh studio album Global Warming. The song features guest vocals from Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira.
The Banger of a Track was released on June 28, 2012 as the lead single from the album by RCA Records.
Produced by Urales “DJ Buddha” Vargas, Marc Kinchen, Develop and Sidney Samson, the song features guest vocals from Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. “Get It Started” marks the third time they have collaborated on a song together, the others being the official remix to Shakira’s song “Lo Hecho Está Hecho” and the English version of “Rabiosa”.
“Get It Started” was co-written by Pitbull, Bigram Zayas, Durrell Babbs, Kris Stephens, Kinchen, Samson, DJ Buddha and Shakira. It is a dance-pop song that “blends a dance beat and up-tempo verses with a slowed-down, piano-driven pop chorus”.
The music video and was directed by David Rosseau and it premiered on Pitbull’s official YouTube VEVO channel in early August 2012.
