“Beat of My Drum” is the first single from British recording artist Nicola Roberts‘ upcoming debut studio album, Cinderella’s Eyes.
The song was released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on June 5th, 2011, as the album’s lead single. The up-tempo pop song was written by Roberts, Maya von Doll, Wesley “Diplo” Pentz, and Dimitri Tikovoi, and produced by Diplo and Tikovoi.
On May 2, 2010, Roberts officially joined Twitter and launched her official website to announce the debut of the single.
Following twenty-top ten singles, Girls Aloud announced a hiatus in 2009. In late 2010 reports surfaced that Roberts had begun working on solo material due for a 2011 release. In August, Roberts said, “I’ve been in the studio non-stop doing all of my own song writing.”
The News of the World reported in December 2010 that Roberts had signed with Universal.
