“Your Love Is My Drug” is an electropop song by American recording artist and songwriter Ke$ha, from her debut album, Animal. Prior to the release of Animal, the song charted in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand. It will be officially available for U.S. airplay on April 8, 2010. In a March 2010 interview for UK website Digital Spy, Kesha stated that “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Take It Off” were being considered as candidates for the third single from the album.
The song was written by Kesha, her mother Pebe Sebert and Joshua Coleman. It tells about one of Kesha’s previous romances, which she compares to a drug. The song was featured in the film The Bounty Hunter.
The music video will be directed by Honey. The video was shot April 6 and April 7 2010 in the Lancaster, California desert.
