“Love the Way You Lie” is the second single by American rapper Eminem from his seventh studio album, Recovery. The song features vocals from Barbadian singer Rihanna and is produced by Alex da Kid. The song gave Eminem his fourth US number one and Rihanna her seventh.
Joseph Kahn directed the video which was released on the 5th of August 2010. Shooting for the video was set to begin on July 20, 2010.

This song, released on August 5th 2010 was the same date that I was in court as a prosecution witness against my exboyfriend for his violent crimes against me consisting of aggravated assaults, numerous breaches of restraining order and stalking. He was charged and sent to prison. It appears by the millions of counted views that this song has generated over the internet that there appears to be way too many men that find excitement in throwing a woman around the home and way too many girls that fall for this sensationalised form of passion. Girls, listen up, this is NOT love. This is NOT respect, care or passion. THIS IS VIOLENCE perpetrated by an angry controlling jealous and possessive man. Keep things real in your head at all times, dont fall for the delusions of love that this video is seemingly portraying. For anyone who hasnt been in a violent relationship and thinks this looks hot, well I can assure you the reality of it is most certainly not. You are not Rihianna and your boyfriend is not Eminem. I know this is a video portrayal but I am an older woman who is very grounded in her emotions. I feel for younger girls and guys who may wish to emulate this sort of passion in their relationship whilst they are still young and exploring their emotions with another person. Relationship violence is on the increase in every country throughout our world and videos such as these dont help things especially when so many people are on drugs and alcohol and their emotions are being heightened and they want everything intensified. Then the sorrys come, “oh I am so sorry I was drunk”. That is just their excuse. They drink so that they can use it as an excuse.
