New York Magazine and Red Carpet Fashion Awards report that Beyonce was spotted filming the music video for the pilot single off her upcoming album.
Wearing a Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit from the pre-spring 2011 collection and a hairy coat from the label’s fall line, the 16-time Grammy winner introduced a 70s inspired look that is supposed to fit her new sound, inspired by music from the same decade, as well as by Michael Jackon’s album “Off The Wall”.
It’s good to see her going for a completely different theme than her peers who feed fans with futuristic cosmic music videos (“Born This Way”, “E.T.” and “Hold It Against Me”). However, could be wrong – we’ll see what the final product has to offer when it’s finally released, it’s highly anticipated (obviously!)
According to the Daily Telegraph, Beyoncé performed for Sony Music executives in New York recently to give them a taste of her next album, slated for release near the end of June. “I just love making music and sharing it with fans,” she said before launching into her set.
Reportedly, she performed six songs from the untitled album, and the execs were impressed.
“It was just amazing,” Sony Music Australia boss Dennis Handlin said. “She came in and played us six tracks from the album. She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record, which will include Australia. These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she’s gone to another level.”
The rumor is a press release for the project will be released in April/June, revealing the official release date and title of the album and the single. Check out some more pics from the video shoot that took place in New Jersey yesterday below:
